Dr. Ashok Kumar Raghav is an academic, environmental scholar, legal professional and former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer with over three decades of experience in law enforcement and public administration. He has served as a Vice Chancellor and has extensive expertise in environmental governance, sustainable development, Himalayan ecology, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), carrying-capacity assessment and mining governance. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and a degree in law. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, London, and a member of the MCN–FICM network of mediators and arbitrators. His research focuses particularly on fragile mountain ecosystems and science–policy integration.
